St Albans Hockey Club seeks to provide the best possible experiences for its young members. Playing hockey is only one facet of being a club member; the Leadership Passport has been designed to enable our youth members to develop and demonstrate a wider skill set and hopefully build their self confidence as young leaders.
The passport is a tiered scheme which requires those participating to complete a number of identified tasks. Opportunities to complete these tasks will all take place during training or match sessions during the season. A maximum of one task can be completed during any single training session. The scheme is open to all of the youth members of the club and there is no cost for participants.
The passports for the Tangerine, Bronze and Silver awards were launched at training last week by Alicia Gibson, Rosie Angel and Cara Pham, the U14 girls from the Forum. If you were not at training and did not have a chance to collect a passport, please ask your coach on November 13th.
The Tangerine Award is aimed at the U10 age group
The Bronze Award is aimed at the U12 age group
The Silver Award is aimed at the U14 age group
The Gold Award is aimed at the Over 16 age groups.
Details of each award can be found here.
Successful participants will receive a certificate at the end of the season.
The Passport scheme is the latest initiative from the Youth Forum, it has been developed by the U14 age group represented by Alicia, Rosie, Cara, Toby Coope and Edward Ramage.
There will be more information about other programmes and initiatives later in the season.
We are hoping that lots of our youth members will take part in the passport programme and that it becomes a stepped pathway to becoming a confident young leader.
