Our hockey club is founded and maintained by the amazing and dedicated volunteers who freely give of their time. Without their huge collective contributions, the club simply wouldn’t and couldn’t function. However, we need more people to help this core group of volunteers, who are currently stretched to the limit in what they can do for the club with limited time and resources - most have day jobs too.
We encourage all our members to get involved in volunteering. Whether it’s umpiring games, supporting the youth coaching, assisting with social events, managing the daily running of the club, or simply cheering our teams on - our volunteers are indispensable to us and we would be lost without them.
These days we all know time is precious, and even if you can give 1 to 2 hours per week to help with the running of the club, it would be time gratefully received and welcomed.
And you don’t need to be a member of the hockey club to help out. We welcome mums, dads, grandparents, boyfriends, girlfriends, friends and any other willing people you may know! And if you have a skill set that you think would really help the club, we'd love to know more. Some skill sets that would be really helpful to us are detailed in the pages of this section. If you believe you can or know someone who can help with one of these roles, please contact the relevant individual or for general volunteering requests, Becky Turner, CEO - all email addresses are on the Contacts page.
Become the newest member of the St Albans Hockey Club volunteer family by signing up to volunteer and you’ll forever be a hero!
Thank you.
We understand that some people are just too busy to be able to commit wholeheartedly to volunteering. So we've set up the SAHC Partnership scheme. This is where members past and present can donate small amounts to the club and it's used for extra equipment needed by the players and coaches. More information about the Partnership scheme can be found here.
You might even be in a position to be able to offer sponsorship of the club through your company. There are several sponsorship opportunities available - please click here.
