St Albans Hockey Club is an inclusive, family, friendly local sports club based at Oaklands College. On a Saturday and Sunday the club house and bar is a buzzing and supportive environment with lots of friendly faces.

On a Saturday we provide hot meals to approximately 250 hungry hockey players. On a Sunday morning we have a very active youth section and run a café serving breakfast snacks and coffee for families. Our men’s Performance team and other matches take place on a Sunday afternoon and we finish the day with a hot meal for the players and hot drinks for spectators.

We are seeking friendly and enthusiastic staff to support us by working in our kitchen.

Duties will be varied and include:
Washing up (we do have a dishwasher)
Clearing and wiping down tables
Replenishing plates and cutlery
Wiping down work surfaces and cleaning cooking pots
We encourage out team to be friendly and personable to our members and guests
Leaving the kitchen and club room clean and tidy ready for the next shift

If you do have an interest in cooking, we will encourage you to help with food preparation and serving. However, this is not an essential skill.

Due to demand being based on the number of matches and players , hours can be flexible to cover shifts between 11.00 am and 7.00 pm on a Saturday and 8.30 am to 5.00 pm on a Sunday. The day is varied and at times can be very busy. However, we always ensure that you have time for a break and a quick rest.

Pay is dependent on age, skills and experience - as a minimum you will receive £7.00 per hour. You will also receive a hot meal/breakfast snack during or at the end of your shift.
