3. Youth Volunteers

At St Albans HC we very much appreciate the support of youth volunteers - whether this is on the pitch, to help with coaching and umpiring, or off the pitch, to manage tournaments and sorting out refreshments.

I'm Andre Hugo, the Youth Leaders Coordinator for the club. My role is to ensure that everyone who wants to contribute to the club’s community could do so, and that they get the full benefit from this opportunity.

St Albans HC is committed to formally supporting Youth Leaders, aged 13 and over. We provide support and development opportunities through the Leadership Skills Foundation - “I Can Lead” course, ongoing support and guidance from myself, the Head of Youth (Julia Hutchinson), the Youth Fixtures Secretary (Annette Woodrow) and the coaching teams throughout the season.

Youth Leaders will develop skills and understanding of, amongst other:

· Coaching
· Umpiring
· Running tournaments/matches
· Safeguarding

Joining the Youth Leaders not only enables juniors to fulfil requirements for their Duke of Edinburgh award, but also those who may just like to support coaches, develop their own leadership skills, help their peers and be part of the club volunteer family.

Please can you contact me directly if you (or your child) would like to contribute in this way. Speak to me in person at the Club, or contact me through the Contact Us page https://www.stalbanshc.co.uk/contact
